things that grow
implemented using EnginE:LSystemS which have the followin parameters that can hence be used when MatinG:
- number of iterations (needs not be fixed with interactive growth)
- angle of turning when branching
- ..
another technique: Modeling Trees with a Space Colonization Algorithm

example (there's a video of this too, a small mp4 encapsulated in http://an.org/FirstAndLast/tree35deg-thick.ls.mov). the simple source (http://an.org/FirstAndLast/tree35deg-thick.ls) demonstrates (not explained now though) how this composes of small simple elements that provide means for MatinG

The worlds may include dynamic elements, such as growing plants, which can mix characteristics in the course of evolution, and be affected by the environment. With L-Systems interesting structures emerge from very simple seeds (only few lines of code).

is this from a totally different angle, but relevant now 'cause of FoodWorld perhaps .. well a thought / existing connection anyway.
